Starting in 1991, HEI became the first Chinese EPC contractor to undertake combined cycle power plant projects. Since then, the company has contracted and built the following power plants: Pakistan Kotri Combined Cycle Power Plant, Pakistan Faisalabad Combined Cycle Power Plant, UCH Combined Cycle Power Plant, Bin Qasim Combined Cycle Power Plant, Bengal Tongi Gas Turbine Power Plant, Sylhet Combined Cycle Power Plant, and Pakistan Guddu 747MW Combined Cycle Power Plant. During the undertaking of these projects we have accumulated rich experience in building combined cycle power plants and trained a large number of project management talent and professional commercial and technical talent.
The Pakistan UCH Combined Cycle Power Plant, a large-scale combined cycle power project, was contracted and built by a consortium of HEI and America’s GE in 1996. This cooperation marked the first time that a Chinese company had worked together with a world famous company to jointly develop and implement an international project. An advanced project management software was for the first time adopted during this project signifying the company’s project management practices’ integration with international norms, and the company to reach a new standard and stride into the ranks of first-class global power plant engineering companies.
