The 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) was held at Beijing’s Shougang Park from September 9 to 13. The case of Harbin Electric International Company Limited (HEI) - the “HEI Smart O&M Service Platform” - was selected as a “China Service Demonstration Case.”

The HEI Smart O&M Service Platform integrates IoT, artificial intelligence, and big data technologies to build a closed-loop system of “remote monitoring + intelligent analysis + on-site execution,” supported by an unmanned inspection robot system, enabling predictive maintenance and intelligent inspection of core power plant equipment. The platform has already been deployed at the 660 MW Lucky coal-fired power plant and the 1,180 MW Bhikki combined-cycle power plant, both in Pakistan, driving a shift in the O&M model from reactive repair to proactive prediction. The project has delivered notable results: Chinese-side staffing costs have been reduced by more than 40%, and spare parts procurement costs have dropped by 15%. At the Bhikki project, unit availability reached 98.28%, maintaining a world record among GE H-class units, with 2.5 million consecutive person-hours of accident-free operation. The platform has expanded the “engineering + digital services” overseas business model, helping Chinese power services go global. It has been recognized with two national-level industry innovation awards and offers cross-regional replicability, serving as a demonstration model for the digital upgrading of energy services under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The “China Service Demonstration Case” selection is a flagship program of CIFTIS, designed to establish industry benchmarks and showcase exemplary leadership. At the 2026 edition, a dedicated “China Service Case Showcase” area was set up for the first time within the core zone of the main theme exhibition, soliciting more than 140 cases nationwide across the 12 major fields of trade in services. The selected cases represent the leading standard in China’s trade-in-services sector. Receiving this honor is not only national-level recognition of the company’s innovative strength, but also helps enhance the international brand influence of “China Service,” offering a replicable path for more enterprises pursuing overseas expansion.
