| In July 1988, Harbin Power Plant Equipment Import and Export Corporation was officially established, to take charge of power plant engineering project development and international trade business. |

| In October 1992, Harbin Power Engineering Company was officially established, to take charge of EPC projects and export of power plant equipment. |

| In October 1994, Harbin Power Station Equipment Sets Corporation undertook a reorganization and transformation of its shareholding system, and was renamed as Harbin Power Equipment Corporation (the predecessor of Harbin Electric Corporation), and Harbin Power Equipment Company Limited (predecessor of Harbin Electric Company Limited) was established, the subordinate enterprises of which included Harbin Electric Machinery Company Limited, Harbin Boiler Company Limited, Harbin Turbine Company Limited and Harbin Power Station Engineering Company Limited. |
